SPEECH THERAPY :
Speech Therapy deals with the treatment of disorders that affect a person's speech, language, cognition, voice disorders, swallowing disorders and the rehabilitative or corrective treatment of communication. Our speech therapists take care of patient's speech production, vocal production
swallowing difficulties and language needs through speech therapy. Swallowing problems like oral, laryngeal, and/or pharyngeal stages of swallowing can be managed under speech therapy.
The Speech Therapist of MCRC provides prevention, screening, consultation, assessment and diagnosis, treatment, intervention, management, counseling, and follow-up services for disorders of Speech, Language, Language processing, Pre-literacy and language-based literacy skills, establishing augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) techniques and strategies including developing, selecting, and prescribing of such systems and devices (e.g., speech generating devices.). Selecting, fitting, and establishing effective use of prosthetic / adaptive devices for communication, swallowing, or other upper aerodigestive functions, Educating and counseling individuals & families regarding acceptance, adaptation, swallowing, or other upper aerodigestive concerns.
